Yes, things are small, but they are very sharp. it's been over a week and I'm sticking with it. UPDATE: After a while, I gave 150% at 3840x2160 a try. Waves) ending their compatibility & active support for Sierra. Unfortunately I see the trend of audio/plugin companies (eg.

I have left the application running on the Windows 8.1 setting, but at 200% and all seems well. Hi all, Im currently using PT 12.7 on macOS Sierra 10.12.6 without any issue. And with your active plan, you get them as soon as we release them.

However, my eyes are not what they used to be and I have set it back to 200%. Pro Tools Ultimate The ultimate toolset for any music or post production from 79.99 USD /month Buy now Pro Tools is always getting better with new features and improvements. With the application from your link, I was able to use 175% and it looked as good as 200% (except for the Pro Tools issue noted above). Other multiples appeared somewhat less sharp in the past. Prior to seeing your post, I had been using 200% scaling at 3840x2160 on a 28" monitor. I would encourage others to give it a try and evaluate for themselves. It was nice to be able to see more screen elements from Pro Tools on my monitor! Maybe the minor font weirdness is just on my system. Nothing that would render Pro Tools unusable, but it looked less "nice". Some fonts in Pro Tools appeared a bit off. After you edit the registry, restart Cisco Jabber.

You can work around this issue by adding the following to the Windows registry on the HVDs: HKEYCURRENTUSERSoftwareCisco Systems, Inc.JVDI 'isVDIEnabled''true'. I gave it a try and it appears to work for the Windows GUI in general, but I noticed that not all of the benefits translated into Pro Tools 12.8. Therefore, Cisco Jabber Softphone for VDI mistakenly identifies the deployment as non-VDI.

Studio One probably had this coded in early on, so the effort was probably not huge.Īside from the less than perfect sharpness of PT, there is the far more serious issue (in my opinion) raised by DAWgEAR and others whereby AIR plugins and Score Editor cause GUI to shrink to a quarter of normal size on 4k displays with Windows 10 (and 8).Īfter quite a bit of trial, error and research I found a solution that works for me: I conclude this must be a bit of an effort to address for applications with lots of GUI elements and lots of legacy code. Having followed Cubase for some time I observe their latest release did not include DPI-awareness, as requested by lots of users for a long time. So does Sibelius, which is DPI-aware (at least mostly). Studio One, on the other hand, is DPI-aware, so it looks super-sharp.

Regarding the sharpness issue I also find PT a bit less sharp than other applications, but Cubase is far less sharp. I'm on a Dell laptop with a 4k display, Windows 10, Pro Tools 12.6.0, and apply 200% scaling.

It seems this thread concerns two main issues: The lack of sharpness of the GUI on 4k displays, and (to some extent) issues with AIR plugins and score editor when 200% scaling is applied to allow for "normal-sized" text and graphic elements for smaller displays.
